Commentary By Rob Pollard

19:56

What a goal that was

19:36

Pep

"We missed the last pass and last actions in the first half. Swansea played good. But we started second half very good, found a goal and after we created a lot of chances."

19:36

Pep

"We played a good game in general. We made a few mistakes and conceded goals. Celina moved well between the lines but we spoke in half time and said we need a goal and then hopefully the rest will be easier. The spirit didn’t drop."

19:15

On March 30, when we go to Fulham, we will have one trophy in the bag, a place in the semi-final of the FA Cup secured, a quarter-final berth in the Champions League and we're very much in the title race.

That, whatever happens, is an incredible effort and testament to the strength in depth in this squad.

86'

Going back to that chance a moment ago. Jesus' header was tipped onto the post and then Aguero, from point-blank range, fires in an effort and Nordfeldt saves superbly with his legs.

No idea how it isn't 3-2.

69'

Aguero's effort blocked when it looked to be heading in - ball comes back to him, he takes a touch and finds Bernardo, who produces a QUITE BRILLIANT outside-of-the-boot finish into the far corner.

COME ON.

58'

If we're going to turn this around, we need a big player to step and deliver.

No one has done that more than Raheem Sterling over the past two seasons.

HT

We need to be better in the second half. Much better.

This is a massive test of our character. Usually, we come through these kinds of situations.

43'

Pep will give the lads a good blast at half-time, I'm sure. Comforting to know we've got some world-class subs who could influence this game, too.

36'

Silva with a some seriously quick feet in the middle of the park to evade a challenge there. Sets Sane free and he tries to release Walker, who is offside.

8'

Swansea, to their credit, trying to play the right way. They've got the ball down, moving it around well, and trying to play through Celina, their playmaker.

17:10

Pep [on Garcia]

"He's an exceptional player. He was in pre-season and Carabao Cup. Last games he could not be on the bench but today he is there."

17:09

Pep [on Swansea]

"It's a club with experience in the Premier League. They lost the last games but we saw them and they were really good.

"It's the FA Cup, one game away, anything can happen. We've expended a lot of energy in recent games but we want to qualify for Wembley and the semi-finals."

17:02

Wind and rain in Swansea. Not ideal conditions.

A place in the semi-finals and another trip to Wembley is the significant prize on offer, though.

Pep on UCL draw

"It’s the draw, it’s what it is," he said.

"When you have four Premier League teams in the draw you have a good chance to get one of them. It was Tottenham. I know quite well the quality of this team.

"Now Swansea, and we take a break for those who don’t go to international teams. Of course, going to London is closer than Catalunya, or other countries.

"The draw is what it is. Never in my life do I think too much about these situations.

"What I want is people to come back from international break fit and ready for the final two months. That’s all I am concerned about.

"Tottenham, huge respect of course. I know them well, the different systems they use. Experience in all departments. If you talk about any other team in Champions League, it would be the same.

"You cannot control the draw. The draw decides."

16:03

Pep on Stones and Mendy

“John is not ready. Not ready to play, he is injured.

“The doctors say he is getting better.

“He was not good for Schalke and after a test today he did not feel good.

“He did not train the last two days. It is not a big blow and after two weeks he will be ready to train.

“Mendy will hopefully be fit after the international break, too.”

15:58

Voulez-vous

15:57

Pep on KDB

“It happened. The first injury was knees. When you are long term absent due to knee problems it sometimes influences hamstring.

“He doesn't feel quite well right now, not 100%. Doctors and Kevin tell me after international break he will be ready.

“I think before the Bournemouth injury, he was reaching a high level.

“Kevin knows he needs games, but he always creates something for the team. Important is he will be back.”

15:43

Pep [on injuries]

"We don't have too many options.

"Tomorrow is a quarter-final - that is the most important thing by far, to reach the semis."

15:42

Swansea City manager Graham Potter:

"We face a huge challenge, a brilliant challenge for the players because you get to test yourself against the best, and we have to try.

"That's how it is, it is a one-off game. Over a two-legged tie or more than that, you've got no chance pretty much, because the quality is so high.

"But in a one-off match anything can happen and we will try to manufacture something from that."

10:28

The opposition view...

Swansea City manager Graham Potter: "We face a huge challenge, a brilliant challenge for the players because you get to test yourself against the best, and we have to try.

"That's how it is, it is a one-off game. Over a two-legged tie or more than that, you've got no chance pretty much, because the quality is so high.

"But in a one-off match anything can happen and we will try to manufacture something from that."

10:19

More from the boss...

"We will have to make changes.

"(John) Stones is not ready to play. He is still recovering.

"(Vincent) Kompany and Kevin (De Bruyne) are not fit."

10:15

Pep's pre-match throughts

"We don't have too many options (injury-wise).

"Tomorrow is a quarter-final - that is the most important thing by far, to reach the semis."

10:09
