Until then...

22:34

More from Pep ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"We were patient and we scored again.

"What I'm most delighted with is what we have done this season, nobody gave us anything - we did it for ourselves and that is top.

"Nobody in previous seasons gave us anything.

"We did it ourselves, that is tough. I love this team!"

22:33

Pep (on Ilkay Gundogan) ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"Ilkay Gundogan, you cannot believe how good he is.

"He is an exceptional player. He plays different positions and his work ethic.

"I missed him a lot in first year when he was out for six months.

"He's one of best signings in this Club's history."

22:32

Pep Guardiola (on Kevin De Bruyne's injury) ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"It's not serious. Today he could not play.

"We will see for next Sunday but right now I don't know (whether he will play this weekend).

"After international break, he will be fit."

22:14

Phil Foden ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"It needed a change of tempo and Raheem brought that well. It is all about enjoying your time on the pitch and I am happy to score and help the team.

"I thought they were putting dangerous balls in the box so to seal the win meant everything.

"You have to show the manager what you can do each day in training, every young kid wants to play but you have to keep patient."

22:14

Raheem Sterling ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"We have seen them play with the clips that the manager showed and it was difficult to break them down at times. A few did not go in but we took our chance and then got the second.

"It is always disappointing not to start but we had to be patient. I was happy to contribute to the team.

"Players that we have here, you have to read the game and the goals will come. I am buzzing for Phil [Foden] and I want him in the national team, if he keeps going he will be there."

21:59

Sterling work ๐Ÿ™Œ

Phew. Well, that was tough.

Plenty of chances created but just the two goals - two moments of magic.

We never really looked in any danger of conceding but at one point, it did look like 'one of those nights.'

Super Sterling made the difference. Immediately after being introduced, he impacted the game and of course, went on to bag one goal and an assist.

Fabulous cameo performance.

FT

FULL-TIME โฑ

City 2-0 Dinamo Zagreb.

Made harder work of it than we needed to but most importantly, we got the job done and that's two wins from two in Group C.

Well done, boys!

90'

GAME, SET, MATCH.

A clinical counter-attack!

As Dinamo press at one end, Coty break at the other.

Sterling it was who drove forward before nudging to Foden, wo drives into the bottom corner!

Glorious.

88'

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in 18 goals in his last 16 home appearances in the Champions League (11 goals, seven assists).

Sterling is also the fourth player to score a Champions League goal for Man City in five different seasons, after Sergio Agรผero (8), Yaya Toure (5) and David Silva (5).

Open
85'

Almost a second! ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Sterling almost repays the favour for his goal, crossing for Mahrez, who pokes towards the far corner... but Livakovic makes the stop;.

82'

VAR check ๐Ÿ“บ

Play has stopped as the referee consults VAR for a penalty decision.

Gundogan definitely looked to have been nudged over by Stojanovic but there's nothing given!

Took an age, that as well!

Open
78'

Not his night! ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Half-chance for Aguero, as he tries to convert Silva's cut-back but under pressure, he can only clip the ball wide.

Open
70'

Fiesty ๐Ÿ”ฅ

It's getting a little heated out there.

Peric has been carded for the visitors, following a poor challenge on Mahrez, and there was some aftermath after City were denied a foul on Sterling, when the referee looked to have put the whistle to his mouth but gave nothing.

Guardiola has also just been booked for dissent.

69'

Ahhh... ๐Ÿ˜…

After we all breathed a collective sigh of relief, the City faithful are up on our feet now, singing away.

The Dinamo fans meanwhile, are currently bouncing around shirtless and I *may* have been staring open-mouthed during the build-up to our goal.

66'

GET IN THERE!

What an impact! And what a move!

Sensational diagonal ball to the backpost where Mahrez awaits. He slides the ball to the six-yard box and Sterling slides in to finally break the deadlock!

A goal of real quality.

64'

Delivery failure โœ‰

City forcing the issue at the moment, rushing passes and panicking a little in possession.

Some of our crosses in this half have been awful, it has to be said!

63'

Fab Ferna ๐ŸŒŸ

Silky skills from Fernandinho to turn defence into attack, as he shimmies past two Dinamo midfielders.

That's got the crowd up too! Come on, lads!

58'

Argh ๐Ÿ˜–

Another chance for Sterling - he's made some difference! - but his effort is blocked, which takes the sting out and the ball is collected by Livakovic.

57'

Corner ๐Ÿšฉ

Almost an instant impact for Sterling as he steals in at the backpost, looking to head home, but the ball is just taken off his head and cleared for a corner, which is cleared at the first defender.

52'

The General ๐Ÿ™Œ

Important sliding interception from Otamendi to cut out Petkovic's through-ball. Could have been dangerous.

Dinamo looking far more threatening on the counter in this half...

49'

Woah ๐Ÿ˜

Almost another opening for Aguero as Livakovic spills Gundogan's cross but the angle is too narrow for the Argentine and the chance is lost.

47'

Phew... โš

Bit of a let-off there for City as Dinamo broke away with 3v3.

Thankfully, Ademi was caught in two minds and dallied, and Fernandinho was able to recover.

HT

Analysis ๐Ÿค”

So, goalless at half-time and no-one to blame but ourselves really!

Chance after chance created but most have been blazed over the bar or skewed wide, although Gundogan was unfortunate to see his effort crash off the woodwork.

There's no cause for concern as yet - the concern would be if we were struggling to carve out chances. That certainly isn't the case!

Dinamo haven't really threatened enough to trouble Ederson so we've been comfortable in that sense.

Just lacking composure in front of goal.

What do you reckon? Share your thoughts with #cmoncity!

44'

Oooh ๐Ÿ‘

Lovely feet from Cancelo to jink his way into the box but there's too much on his delivery and the ball is cleared.

That little weave though... a sign of things to come!

42'

Shouts for a penalty... nothing given! ๐Ÿšซ

Silva goes down in the area under pressure from Stojanovic but the referee waves away the claims!

Didn't look to be too much contact in the replays, admittedly...

32'

Frustrating so far ๐Ÿ˜•

Very little in terms of goalmouth action in recent minutes but City are in control.

Should definitely be at least a goal to the good. We've created enough!

No need to panic though. Not yet!

28'

Corner kick... ๐Ÿšฉ

Aguero is thwarted again by Livakovic from a narrow angle and City have a corner...

...which is punched away by the Dinamo 'keeper.

Open
25'

Offside! ๐Ÿณ

Aguero smashes the ball into the top corner after a spell of pinball in the box but the flag is raised for offside in the build-up!

Open
23'

Wide of the mark! โžก

Silva is the next to fire off target, dragging a low effort wide of the far post!

We haven't put our shooting boots on tonight!

Open
18'

Over the bar again! ๐Ÿ˜ถ

Aguero this time, who does brilliantly to nip in ahead of Dilaver to create a shooting opportunity - but again, we fire over!

Open
13'

How did we not score there?! ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Two chances for City to break the deadlock, as Aguero attempts to round Livakovic but sees his effort blocked by the Dinamo shot-stopper.

He puts the ball back across and it eventually reaches Bernardo but he uncharacteristically blazes over the bar!

9'

Easy does it ๐Ÿ‘

City gaining some control of this game now, passing around calmly - need to avoid trying to force anything. That's the key.

3'

Fast-paced ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

There's a high tempo to this one already - both sides pressing high, forcing the opposition into one-touch football. Both sides have lost the ball already with City almost benefitting from some sloppy Dinamo defending.

The Champions of course, sporting our traditional blue and white tonight. Dinamo are in full fluorescent green.

19:57

Here we go ๐Ÿ™Œ

Out come the two teams.

There's a good atmosphere here at the Etihad, as the away fans belt out: "Dinamo! Dinamo!" and the City fans respond with "City! City!"

Time for the anthem now; then the handshakes... and then we'll be ready to rock and roll.

19:52

Elsewhere in Europe... โšฝ

An injury time Manor Solomon strike snatched victory for Shakhtar Donetsk at Atalanta, while Real Madrid salvaged a 2-2 draw at home to ten-man Brugge!
19:40

Budding Blues? โšฝ

While the rest of the team practice their possession and aerial skills, Claudio Bravo is warming up with the ball boys in the corner, as they kick the ball between themselves.

They'll never forget this moment!

19:32

Back to Micah... ๐Ÿ’™

I absolutely love Micah Richards - he's brilliant both on and off the pitch.

I was there that night at Villa Park when he scored his first City goal to equalise in injury time of our FA Cup tie at Aston Villa! What a night that was. Someone actually lifted me up and threw me into the row in front.

Funny story, I also met him outside a restaurant once the night before a game. I told him to have a good game and he said he would - only to make a dreadful mistake which cost us away at West Brom. Sigh...

19:29

Here they come โšฝ

Out come the Champions for pre-match warm-ups.

They're all sporting 'Laporte 14' on the back on their shirts in solidarity of their injured comrade.

19:05

Club Journalist David Clayton ๐Ÿ“

"Benjamin Mendy and Joao Cancelo start against Dinamo Zagreb as the Blues make five changes from the 3-1 win over Everton.

"Also returning are David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva.

"Phil Foden, Eric Garcia and Angelino are among the subs with Kevin De Bruyne ruled out with a groin injury.

"Pep Guardiola mentioned Dinamoโ€™s tactic of five at the back versus Atalanta on matchday 1 and it will be interesting to see if the Croats go with a similar formation this evening.

"The Blues rarely tinker with the 4-3-3 line-up that has worked so well and leave it to the opposition to try and tinker with their tactics and figure how to stop the high press and relentless attacks from the men in sky blue."

18:42

Latest scores โšฝ

In tonight's other Group C encounter, Atalanta and Shakhtar Donetsk are drawing 1-1 at half-time at the San Siro. The hosts also missed a penalty at 0-0.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are losing 2-0 at home to Club Brugge in Group A! Wow!

18:39

Stat attack ๐Ÿ“ˆ

City's 3-0 victory at Shakhtar Donetsk made it 17 goals in our last five UEFA Champions League matches.

Since losing at home to Lyon on Matchday One last season (1-2), our record is W8 D1 L1 with 32 goals scored and ten conceded.

18:38

Sterling work ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Raheem Sterling has scored eight goals in nine club games this season, and was also on target in England's 4-0 defeat of Bulgaria at Wembley and the 5-3 win against Kosovo three days later, when he provided three assists.

18:25

Brrr โ„

I know I've already mentioned this (Sorry but I'm British - we talk about the weather a lot...) but there's a real bite to the breeze tonight.

1 October already... perhaps it's time to dig out the hat, scarf, snood and gloves.

Summer is officially over. *sobs*

18:16

Rodrigo ๐Ÿ’ฌ

"Fortunately this is my second year playing in the Champions League. Iโ€™m young, I donโ€™t have that experience.

"The Champions League is the greatest tournament. All the good clubs fight for it. Itโ€™s tough.

"It will be a good challenge for us. We are focused on this competition.

"We dream of this competition. We have to be focused all the time or you go out."

18:12

Injury update... ๐Ÿšจ

Kevin De Bruyne suffered a groin injury in the win over Everton and will miss tonightโ€™s game against Dinamo Zagreb.

The extent of his layoff depends on how well he responds to the rehabilitation programme overseen by the Clubโ€™s medical staff.

The Belgian has been superb for City so far this season, registering a remarkable nine assists in nine games.

Everyone at City wishes Kevin a speedy recovery and we all look forward to seeing back in blue soon.

18:03

It's matchday! โšฝ

A very good evening from the Etihad Stadium for tonight's Champions League Group C clash against Dinamo Zagreb.

It's a cold one here in Manchester tonight but I will happily shiver away to bring you live coverage of this Matchday Two encounter, as City look to claim six points of six.

How are you feeling ahead of the game? Get in touch using #cmoncity!

10:38

Travel travails

Dinamo Zagreb have never won away from home against English teams in all competitions in Europe, losing five of their seven trips to England (drawn two).

The Croatians are also winless in their last 15 Champions League away matches (drawn two, lost 13), losing each of the last 12.

10:22

Pep's pre-match thoughts...

"To play five at the back and score four goals [against Atalanta] is not bad.

"They (Dinamo Zagreb) are aggressive and with long balls to the strikers, they are so strong. We have to be careful."

10:18

Up and running...

We got off to the perfect start in our European campaign with a fine 3-0 win away to Shakhtar Donetsk a fortnight ago.

And another three point haul this evening would be a second huge step forward in terms of qualifying for the knockout stages.

10:15

Good morning Blues...

It's matchday once again as we prepare to play host to Dinamo Zagreb this evening in our second Champions League Group C encounter.
