Commentary By Neil Leigh

See you next Sunday

That's all for today.

Thanks for joining us on what has been a memorable and hugely successful tour of Asia.

Now the focus switches back to domestic matters and next Sunday's Community Shield clash at Wembley against Liverpool.

Be sure to join us then for what promises to be a thrilling curtain-raiser to the new season.

Pep's praise

"It was an incredible test for our progression for the next game and for the future, so a big compliment to the players, no injuries, so we beat an incredible team.

"People say ‘ahh Yokohama in Japan’ but I know exactly how good they are and unfortunately up front we create a lot of chances but couldn't score them all."

Tour de force

All in all a highly satisfactory way to conclude a memorable two weeks on tour in Asia.

New signings Rodri and Angelino have slotted in seamlessly while a raft of youngsters have also impressed.

Add to that some superb showings from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling to name but two and the portents look highly promising!

More from Pep...

"They’re (Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus on holidays, they had the Copa America, they have to rest, and Sterling as a striker is incredible so we have many solutions.

"The players are good and they’re coming back soon."

That winning feeling..

David Silva is all smiles as he and the City players collect the EuroJapan Cup.

Hopefully it will be the first of many trophies for us this season!!

Pep's reaction...

"Yokohama played some incredible football and they were an incredible test for us.

"I knew how good they were and it was tough for us.

"Now we need more games to get in the best condition."

Raheem's verdict

Raheem: "Yokohama played some great football and it was a real test for us. They are one of the best teams we've seen playing out from the back."

Job done

A testing work out amidst the heat and humidity and, just as importantly, a game incident free in terms of injuries.

That's what pre-season games are all about.

Full time

All over here and City end our Asia Tour on a winning note with a hard fought 3-1 win.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Lukas Nmecha seal the win and mean we will lift the EuroJapan Cup

Super subs...

Substitutes combine as Adrian Bernabe carves open a fraction of space on the right.

His cross bobbles off the turf and Nmecha forces the ball over the line from close range.

Bravo with a stunning one handed save from a close range shot preserves City's lead as the hosts turn up the pressure again. The keeper has had a fine game.

On the charge

Nmecha threatens again, showing his power and pace by winning the ball on the touchline and charging at the Yokohama backline only to be denied at the death.

Razzle dazzle

Sterling cuts a swathe through the Yokohama defence with a jinking run and then appears to be bundled over on the edge of the box.

No free kick though much to his bafflement.

Fight club

Still an open game as Yokohama press forward and win another corner.

There are almost 70,000 fans here and the hosts are making a real fist of things.

So close...

City almost immediately go 3-1 up. Great work by Kyle Walker on the right flank sees the full back fire in a teasing cross and David Silva stoops to head home but the ball is deflected inches wide.

It couldn't have been closer.

Yokohama should have drawn level.

Kida with a deft chest down opens up the City defence and Miyoshi blazes high and wide with the City goal gaping.

A let off.

Mikel Arteta's view

"It's a true test. The hardest thing is to maintain the intensity. We have to stay as compact as possible.

"We will see what happens. "

Blue steel

Leroy Sane has also caught the eye in that first half and looks a potent threat every time he gets on the ball.

Collectively we look to have more goals in our armoury but also need to be wary of the threat from Yokohama.

Action stations

De Bruyne the pick of City's side in that first half. Much to admire about our work but Yokohama are making more than a game of it.

Double stop

Claudio Bravo races 30 yards out to provide a crucial clearance as Yokohama threaten and then the keeper produces a superb save to deny Marcos Junior's left foot drive after a neat move from the hosts .

Cool hand Raz

De Bruyne has been superb so far and another inch perfect pass slices open the Yokohama defence to find Sterling.

He still had work to do but waited for the keeper to leave his line before deftly slotting a low shot home.

Just what we needed!!

So close..

A superb free-kick almost sees a second goal for us.

De Bruyne disguises a delicate pass along the edge of the box to find Bernardo and his curling strike just goes wide of the right hand upright.

Yellow card

Another sumptuous ball from KDB and Sane is impeded by keeper Park on the edge of the box.

The Yokohama keeper is yellow carded - no penalty review though just a free kick.

Sane wriggles free on the edge of the box but though he created space, he couldn't keep the shot down.

Then a lovely ball from Silva is just inches too long for Bernardo as the keeper dashes out.

That's more like it boys.

Wing wizard

At the other end, Leroy Sane shows some sub, lime skill to bamboozle the Yokohama defence and earns a corner.

Delicious play by the German winger

Water break

With humidity at around 77 per cent the teams are taking deserved water break.

Pep is taking the opportunity to fire out some instructions to the players. The boss was visibly frustrated by Yokohama's leveler.

Yokohama strike

City were exposed by a deft through ball which bypassed out backline and though Bravo and Stones both made fine goal-line blocks, Keita Endo was given a third opportunity to strike and made no mistake.

Not what we needed.

Just in time

Yokohama look to make an instant reaction and it needs a timely block from John Stones to cut out a dangerous ball from Yokohama's Endo

Take that!

Bravo is the architect with a searing long pass the ball is then worked to De Bruyne who swivels inside a defender before unleashing a thunderbolt into the top corner of the net.

The Belgian looks in imperious form already. What a strike!!

Close call

Another clever pass from Bernardo finds Sterling on the right but the England star just runs out of space as the Yokohama keeper reacts quickly

Pressure point

Our relentless pressing and pressure is constantly forcing errors from the hosts as a deft Bernardo pass almost puts in Sterling. City knocking on the Yokohama door.

City turn defence to attack in an instant thanks to a stunning De Bruyne pass and Zinchenko then warms Yokohama keeper Park's hands with a stinging low shot.

David Silva sweeps in a delicious free kick and finds Ayermic Laporte free at the far post. However the Frenchman can only send hi header over the bar.

Forward march

Already looks like Raheem Sterling is being deployed as a striker here. Not a bad option to have given his superb strike rate over the past few seasons.

At fever pitch

High temperatures and high humidity at the Nissan Stadium will make it a real test for both teams.

The other key requirement for us will be to ensure we come through the game unscathed ahead of the onset of domestic action.

In the spotlight

Looking forward to seeing Rodri step out again today. Our summer signing from Atletico Madrid has made  a huge impression already on tour and has slotted in seamlessly to the squad.

Looks like he will be a huge addition to the squad this season and going forward.

All fired up...

The Nissan Stadium looks absolutely packed and the atmosphere is superb.

Looks like being a memorable way to sign off a hugely enjoyable Asia Tour.

More to come...

It's also worth reminding ourselves that the squad will receive another boost on our return to Manchester.

Next week is expected to see the return of our Copa America contingent which will give us another timely fillip ahead of that huge Community Shield clash with Liverpool.

Pep on the impact of KDB...💬

“Yes, of course, it’s like having a new player. Of course, Kevin knows what we want to do. It’s very important to come back in the way that he has started this season.”

More from the boss...💬

“It’s the last match before the Community Shield. We know it will be a tough game and we will try to put on a good performance.

“I’m so satisfied with what the guys have done on the pitch (so far on tour). Not just the experienced players but the young guys too."

View to a thrill

The Nissan Stadium in Yokohama will provide a thrilling backdrop to our tour finale.

There is expected to be a crowd in excess of 60,000 and here;'s hoping we can serve up another spectacle to match the occasion!

Bench press

There's a very youthful feel to our substitutes bench but all of the youngsters have acquitted themselves superbly while on tour.

And, no doubt, if they do get another opportunity to impress today they will look to grab it with both hands.

Blue steel

A very strong line up for our Asia Tour finale then.

And with our Community Shield clash with Liverpool just over a week away, today's clash provides another key opportunity to hone our preparations for the rigors ahead.

Pep's early thoughts...

“In nine days we have the Community Shield against Liverpool and having watched Yokohama videos this could be the best game we could play because of the way they play," he said.

“City and Yokohama have similar philosophies. It’s a pleasure to be in Japan again and hopefully the fans enjoy the football.

“Both teams want the ball and both teams want to play. Both teams want to attack and score and when that happens, football is magnificent.

“Sometimes playing against good teams in tough conditions is the best way to improve and work on our mentality.

“Players always play well in good conditions, but that’s not the point.

“I’m excited and looking forward to the game tomorrow. After analysing our opponent, I know it’s going to be interesting."
